Sorsogon the land of Kasanggayahan, located at the southernmost part of Luzon in the Bicol region made it’s mark in the world map because of it’s whale sharks known locally as butanding. Donsol, a small town in the province of Sorsogon is the haven of these gentle giants. Sadly, tourists only know Sorsogon for it’s whale sharks when in fact my dear province has a lot more to offer. Let me give you a glimpse of the other towns of Sorsogon…

No, this isn't Calaguas, this is Subic beach in Matnog
Huag fish sanctuary

Tikling Island another virgin beach of Matnog

Mt. Bulusan

Bulusan lake dubbed as "the Switzerland" of the Philippines

Parola Beach, the largest Spanish shipyard in Bicol

San Mateo hot spring in Irosin

Irosin valley view

the festivals (Padaraw Festival in Bulan)

the beautiful Bicolanas...
and so much more that I have yet to explore! Prieto Diaz, Gubat, Castilla, Juban, Casiguran, Barcelona, Pilar, Sta. Magdalena & Sorsogon City!

Second photo – awesome. Parang ang sarap ma-experience yan. Ang lalaki ng mga fish. Naintrique ako sa Bulusan lake, why was it called the switzerland of our country?
I heard stories re Mt. Bulusan. Maganda daw dito.
Hi Lito!
Indeed! Yun tlga yung na-enjoy ko sa matnog yung fish sanctuary!
The cool, serene, and refreshing natural features of the Bulusan Volcano Natural Park are somehow comparable to the scenic countryside of Switzerland. At parang me nabasa ako date na may katulad xang Lake dun pero di ko na ulit mahanap yung source so don’t quote me on that. hehe I’ll confirm that with my tito and tita kung me katulad nga dun when they visit Pinas. hehe

Thanks for featuring another side of Sorsogon, beyond the whalesharks and Donsol.
My dad is from Sorsogon and I remember visiting my grandparents during my summer break. I remember going to Subic Beach, Bulusan Lake and the hot and cold springs of Irosin. Unfortunately, we stopped visiting since my dad had conflicts with his extended family.
Glad to see how Sorsogon is right now. It has changed a lot, but it still retained its charm.
I hope the conflict will be resolved so you could spend another summer in Sorsogon. Thank you for dropping by Rianne. =)
