Travel Accessories: Hed Kandi Headphones Review

“Do you have an extra headset?”, asked my Aussie roommate in Kota Kinabalu. Unfortunately I don’t have any.  I was staying in a mixed dorm during my summer backpacking so it’s hard to play music while writing without an earphone.  So I went to the balcony and started writing there until the rest of the guests came to the balcony so I had to stop the music.  Made me wish I  have with this stylish Hedkandi headphones last summer!

I’ve been dying to get  a stylish lightweight headphones.Surprisingly I found an affordable headphone which has one of the thinnest, most-stylish, hair-friendly headbands around with ultra-comfortable, soft-touch rubberized ear-cups for optimum listening pleasure.  Its adjustable headband can be clicked and locked  and it has curly cables that are anti-tangle. I’ve used cheap unbranded heavy stylish headphone for months so finally owning a lightweight headphone is a such a relief.

Technical Spec:

Stereo Headphones

Driver Size: 30mm

Impedence: 32 Ohms

Sensitivity: 108dB

Frequency Response: 20Hz-20,000KHz

Maximum Power Input: 20mW

Cable Length: 1.5m

I find my Hedkandi Disco Heaven headphones fashionable  because of its sleek style and chic pastel colors  but it looks pretty delicate so it must be handled with extra care.  I chose because it has smaller ear-cups that I wouldn’t be too shy to wear in public.  I also like the thin hair-friendly headband and yeah, because it’s cheaper than Headkandi Discothéque headphones.

Tested the sound while playing  ”We Build and We Break” by the Fray and “Charmer” by Kings of Leon last Saturday – the sound quality is pretty okay for me.  Played some  alternative and grunge songs – my favorite genres and found the bass compact enough.   I enjoyed playing the music without  a jarring noise, I feel like I have my world while playing my favorite rock songs  inspiring me to work on some articles. Exactly what I needed, it doesn’t hurt my ears or cause my ears to sweat because  it has smaller ear-cups only that I have to be too careful not to twist the ear-cups in the wrong direction.   Not too heavy for my head either.   The only thing I wish it had is that  little round volume control attached  to the cables like the one on my old headphone.

You can get the HeadKandi Disco Heaven headphones for  Php1,090.  It’s available at the following stores and distribution outlets along with other HedKandi products:

iStudio

Astrovision
