Set on the serene Penny’s Bay in Lantau Island, Hong Kong, Disney’s Hollywood Hotel unassuming façade belies its strikingly eccentric 1930’s Hollywood Golden Age movies theme with an elegant contemporary twist.

Y003

As the automatic hotel door opened, my sister and I felt instantly relaxed as we walked through its dainty lobby where snappily dressed staff at the reception attends to guests. We love the lounge where visitors can hang out comfortably and get access to a free Wi-Fi, in fact, it instantly became my sister’s favorite part of the hotel as most of the time she’s online!

Y0012

Hong Kong Disney’s Hollywood Hotel has 600 guestrooms each with the garden view, the sea view or the park view overlooking Hong Kong Disneyland Park. We got the garden view room which boasts a grab-your camera view of the piano-shaped pool, garden, and sea beyond.

Y1

The room which can accommodate up to four people resonate with clean-cut Hollywood style and everything one would expect of a first-class hotel. Our soft-lighted room is equipped with LCD  cable TV, refrigerator, phone, hot and cold shower, bathtub and the cute Disney toiletries!

Y02
What’s exciting about the design of this child-friendly hotel is that there are  hidden Mickeys everywhere! Quirky touches include Mickey-inspired elevator button and Mickey-inspired chandelier at the Disney’s Chef Mickey. The said restaurant flaunts a lavish Art Deco-styled studio commissaries of Hollywood’s Golden Age. It is splendid with Mickey decorations and various Disney characters in sketch form.

Y0014
And speaking of Disney’s Chef Mickey, my sister and I enjoyed this sumptuous Disney Chef Mickey’s Buffet breakfast on our last day. See, at Disney’s Hollywood Hotel, the pampering doesn’t stop in your room, the possibilities are endless!

Y004

When you’re booked in Disney’s Hollywood Hotel, a leisurely walk in its garden is something that you wouldn’t want to miss. I tell you, the lovely manicured garden where the piano-shaped pool is also located is so Hollywood-ish!

Y006

It is elegantly adorned with cool classic cars from the 1930s!

Y005

me: OMG! I’m in Hollywood!!! haha #eskaytedmuch

Also check out the names of  streets and highways in California,  pavement decorated as a strip of film, and even the world-famous “HOLLYWOOD HOTEL” sign.

Y001
Or simply get lots of fresh air and watch the seagulls while taking a stroll at Penny’s Bay.

Y009

Disney’s Hollywood Hotel undoubtedly exudes with an infectious sense of fun and vivaciousness!  My sister and I felt sad that we had to leave this place.  So to feel a little better, we head over to Celebrity Gifts  which is conveniently located inside the hotel.  Here, guests like us can sample and buy mementos of our magical journey to Hollywood and Disneyland!
