It was a hot sunny Sunday and me and my travel blogger friends were quite bored while lounging at the beach front. The redundant sound of the waves and the silence was deafening. One thing I hate about bringing gadgets whenever I travel is they add to my paranoia. What if I lost my notebook, my camera or someone snatches my phone? Travel gadgets can make your travel easier or more stressful due to some unexpected incidents such as theft. But since I need them badly, I realized I can bring them with extra protection. Spending a little extra is better than losing them.

“Do you have an extra headset?”, asked my Aussie roommate in Kota Kinabalu. Unfortunately I don’t have any. I was staying in a mixed dorm during my summer backpacking so it’s hard to play music while writing without an earphone. So I went to the balcony and started writing there until the rest of the guests came to the balcony so I had to stop the music. Made me wish I have with this stylish Hedkandi headphones last summer!

Found a really affordable and helpful camping tool while browsing the mall for some cheap travel gadgets for package holidays. A compact stainless steel utensil, comprised of a handle having a first end (either a spoon or a fork) and a second end ( a can opener or a knife).
The handle is movable between an open position and a closed position. At least one utensil tool is adapted to extend from an end of the handle. The fork, spoon, can opener and knife is fixed to the handle. (more…)

I’m a sun worshiper, but as we all know, the harmful rays of the sun can cause much damage on our skin, so I always make it a point to bring sunscreens with me before I hit the beach on bargain holidays. Sunscreens lotion fights causes of wrinkles, dark spots and age spots; it protects your skin from all sun damaging effects. I use one for the face aside form the sunblock for my body. These sunscreens are made for the specific needs of the face as it is more sensitive compared to the rest of the skin on the body. When buying sunscreens take into account how long you will be exposing your skin under the sun. Buy a higher SPF rating if you will be under the sun for a long time,this way, you are sure that you will stay protected. Make sure it’s clinically tested too.

I’m a beach lover and I guess it’s pretty obvious because of my sun-kissed tone! 
I normally travel to remote beaches where there’s no tourist boat equipped with life jackets or snorkeling gears. I either hire a small boat used mainly for fishing or hitch a ride with a fisherman. One problem I normally encounter is my things usually get wet because the boat is quite small like when I was on a solo trip to Calaguas, so I was forced to buy clothes at the flea market in Paracale. If only I had a dry bag with me back then, then my stuff would’ve been secured.

Every time I’m out traveling, I expose myself to danger, death and theft. I realized that some of my travel misadventures could have been prevented if I’ve prepared a bit. So to avoid being paranoid all the time, this year, I’ll arm my self with travel gadgets and accessories that can help prevent such incidents. Recently, I bought a must-have travel accessory – a security money belt also called secret money belt by some travelers. There are many brands out there, you can even find a lot of these wallet belts sold at Khaosan Road in Bangkok for a cheap price. I bought mine at Tobys, for Php 580 (14USD) brand is Deuter with lifetime warranty.
