Not everyone knows that I was born and raised in a small town in the province of Sorsogon. Back in high school, we lack classrooms, chairs, tables and books. We would usually share books with our classmates, and return it to our teacher at the end of the day. We would sometimes take classes under the mango trees due to lack of classrooms. Our classes are half day only because in the afternoon, another class will be using our room. That’s one of the reasons why I started Happy Philippines, because I’ve been there and it’s pretty sad to see kids experience these situations. The least we could do is help them in our own little ways, so that they will be inspired to study despite these problems. Sadly, this situations still exists today, especially in schools in remote villages.
