Soulful and serene – two words to fairly describe my stay at the posh Vythiri Resort in Wayanad, Kerala. Dramatically draped by a luxuriant jungle, my spacious villa is sitting on the edge of the resort with an interesting view of a river fringed by rocks.
In the morning, I relax at the balcony and listen to the orchestration of the insects and birds in the wild while resident monkeys hide secretly on the bush waiting for the right moment to get inside my room and snatch my chips. The canny creatures prevailed effortlessly on my first day, so the succeeding days I made sure the doors and windows were locked.
Enticing breakfast is served at the cozy restaurant where I had to cross a lovely hanging bridge to get there. I enjoyed the breakfast buffet here as it is a fusion of delicious Kerala cuisines and western food. Don’t miss the vanilla shake served every morning, it is heavenly! The waiters were very attentive, never failed to greet me every day and offer help.
At night, after a day packed with adventures in Wayanad, I dip into the seductive Jacuzzi inside my room. My wooden villa is decorated in serene style; designed with relaxation in mind. It has a living room and equipped with hot and cold shower and a modern comfort room. There is no air-condition, and I don’t really need one as it is quite cold, but I do wish there is a fridge where I can stock some food. It would also help if they have WiFi in the room.
Vythiri Resort is ideal for honeymooners and families looking for a tranquil vacation in the wild without sacrificing comfort and conveniences. It’s on my list of favorite hotel/resort experiences in Kerala, India. Undeniably, I was seduced by its eco-friendly flair and lavish pampering.
