Calatagan, Batangas has long been a magnet of beachgoers, but if you are looking for something new, there’s a rising tourist destination here. Just about 3 hours away from Manila is Manuel Uy Beach Resort and its neighboring islands. It’s a perfect get-away from the hustle and bustle of Manila. Good news is, traveling to Manuel Uy Beach Resort is cheap and so is staying overnight. But you have to be ready to rough it up as camping is the only option to stay overnight here. If you’re not keen on camping, you can do a day trip to Manuel Uy Beach Resort instead or stay overnight at the neighboring Stilts Calatagan Batangas resort or other resorts in Calatagan, Batangas.
On a recent trip to Calatagan Batangas with my sister, we initially planned on doing a day trip to Manuel Uy Beach Resort. But because we boarded the wrong bus, we arrived late in the afternoon, leaving us no choice but to camp here so we can enjoy the beach and other islands in Calatagan. Good thing, they have a tent for rent, so after paying the entrance fee, environmental fee and campsite fee, we hurriedly picked a camping spot on its powdery cream shore and pitched a tent with the help of their staff just before the sunset pour drunkenly over the sprawling beach resort.
So to help you plan your trip to Manuel Uy Beach Resort, here’s a travel guide with sample budget and itinerary. To best enjoy this charming beach with turquoise water and white to cream, powdery sand, avoid the weekends and holidays as it can get too crowded. They have a clean, newly-built building for shower rooms, toilets and grilling stations. Everything is clean and organized here as they have a lot of staff cleaning the shore as well as the camping site every morning. Manuel Uy Beach Resort’s staff are also super helpful and polite, which makes staying here more enjoyable.
