Uradome Coast’s rough-edge beauty is the star of Iwami town in Tottori Prefecture, Japan. This 15 kilometres shoreline spanning from Kugami Point in the east to Mt. Shichi in the west is part of the San’in Kaigan Geopark, listed in the UNESCO Global Geopark Network. Uradome Coast was hailed as one of the 100 Best Coastlines in Japan. Its wave-crashed, pine-fringed cliffs and caves were gorgeously shaped by the winds, waves and harsh weather. It’s a popular island getaway in Tottori Prefecture because of its cerulean water, white sand beaches and Instagram-worthy panoramic view of the island-studded sea. On my recent trip to Tottori, we got to explore Uradome Coast by sightseeing boat and by a short hike. Tourists can also go kayaking here. Here’s a short guide to Uradome Coast to help you plan your trip.
