Cotabato City is sandwiched between the towns of Sultan Kudarat and of Maguindanao.  It is not located in Cotabato Province (South or North) neither is it part of ARMM Region (the Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao). Yes, the ARMM Office is housed inside Cotabato City, but it is actually part of Region XII – SOCCSKSARGEN (South Cotabato, North Cotabat0, Sultan Kudarat, Sarangani and General Santos City).  And although it is situated in Maguindanao province, it is politically independent from it.
